Oslo, Norway
Pick up your rental car in Oslo and stock up on supplies at a Rema 1000 or Meny supermarket. Head to Frognerparken for a quick stretch before hitting the road north. Make sure you have a valid national park camping permit and a good sleeping bag rated for cold nights.
-
Rondane National Park, Norway
Norway's oldest national park is perfect for wild camping under the right-to-roam Allemannsretten law — pitch your tent at least 150m from any cabin or road. Hike up Rondeslottet (2178m) for panoramic views over rolling tundra and reindeer herds. The village of Otta nearby is a good fuel and food stop before heading deeper into the park.

Jotunheimen National Park, Norway
Home to Norway's highest peaks — Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind — Jotunheimen is a breathtaking wild camping destination with glaciers, waterfalls and alpine lakes. Drive the iconic Sognefjellet mountain road (Rv55), the highest mountain pass in Northern Europe, for jaw-dropping scenery. Camp near Lake Gjende and wake up to mirror-still reflections of the surrounding peaks.
