Day 1 — Naxos Town + sunset
Base yourself near Naxos Chora (also called Chora), especially if you won’t have a car the whole time.
Highlights:
* Wander the old Venetian alleys and castle district
* Browse the waterfront and little shops
* Swim at nearby Agios Georgios Beach
* Sunset at the iconic Portara — the giant marble temple gate
Day 2 — Villages + mountain interior
Rent a car or for at least one day. The inland villages are one of the best parts of Naxos and feel very different from the beach areas.
Suggested route:
* Halki — elegant old village and distillery stop
* Kitron Distillery Vallindras
* Filoti — mountain village with tavernas
* Apiranthos — marble streets and traditional architecture
Optional:
* Hike part of Mount Zas if you enjoy walking and want panoramic views
Day 3 — Beach day
Naxos has some of the best sandy beaches in the Cyclades.

* Plaka Beach — long, relaxed, beautiful water
* Agios Prokopios Beach — lively but still gorgeous
